Slimy Story FAQ
« on: 03:37:12 AM 06/17/13 »
Every so often I get email and such asking various questions about the "CreepyPasta" stories I've written. Since they sometimes repeat, I figured I'd write a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page about it.

There are spoilers below! If you haven't read the story, don't read the answer!

Some of these may ruin the "mystery" for you. If you like not knowing, don't read these!

You've been warned...

Abandoned By Disney

Q: Is Mowgli's Palace real?
A: Not as far as I know. (Or maybe Disney got to me.)

Q: What is the creature at the end?
A: I don't know for sure, but there was a prequel.

Q: How can you not know what the creature was "for sure"?
A: A lot of my stories are purposefully vague about things because I want you to be able to make your own decisions on what you just read.

Q: Why is the creature's blood chunky and yellow?
A: You'd have to ask him. I thought it was appropriately "incorrect".

Q: Why does it say "Abandoned by God" in the Mascot Room?
A: It may be a CreepyPasta cliché, but I hoped people might wonder who, exactly, felt that way. I also wanted to create a disturbing "call back" to the hand-made signs people had left around. However you want to look at it is fine.

Funnymouth

Q: Who was answering Funnymouth's email?
A: Funnymouth himself. Through me, of course. ;D

Q: Why doesn't Funnymouth email people anymore?
A: I got more mail than I expected. I kept up on it and replied to everyone for the first while, then only the really good letters for a few months, then it started piling up and I burned out. There was also a lot of mail bombing, threats, porn, and mailing list sign-ups, which got annoying. You can follow him on Twitter, though.

Q: Why didn't Charles Watts answer email?
A: He's was bit out of sorts for reasons that should be obvious.

Q: Did you make ReferSales.com and Bluud.com?
A: Yes, as a vessel for Funnymouth. :)

Lost Episodes

Q: Did Sid have Asperger's/Autisim/etc.?
A: He had something. I'm not really prepared to say what, specifically, because I'm far from an expert on any of the subjects. You can read into his behavior however you like.

Q: Does Sid die at the end?
A: In my opinion, yes, he's actually already dead except for his electronic afterlife. However, I can't say whether or not there may be a recording.

Wobble World

Q: What the Hell?
A: Exactly.

Voice

Q: Who was phone?
A: Voice was phone.

Good answers, here some questions for maybe your second FAQ :)

Room Zero:
Why is Disney messing with the main character? I can understand if their pissed that he posted about Mowgli's Palace, but shouldn't they just stick to deleting his posts? Are they trying to scare him into shutting up because they have some fault with the freaky events that's taken place?

It's one thing to keep Mowgli's Palace secret with controlled media, but how could they hide the fact that hundreds (if not thousands) died in Room Zero? Controlled media is one thing, but you can bet the family members of those people would speak up demanding answers. What excuse did Disney come up with to hide that tragic event?

Did Disney kill Ida, or did all those those Mickey silhouettes scared her so badly that it caused that fatal fall?

& lastly for ABD.
If the guys post about Mowgli's Palace is popular like RZ says, then wouldn't that mean that someone reading it would decide that he/she/they would look for Mowgli's Palace to see what they themselves would find?

Basically, up until this point it's been easy to stifle people and articles, etc. - But now with the advent of social networking, 4Chan, Reddit, and so on, things are spreading faster than they can logically handle. So - the best option is to get the author to retract what he's said and hope that stops people from supporting the story.

That might be something for another story. ;) I don't know for sure since most of what I write is spur of the moment, but I left that bit vague incase I wanted to come back to it.

In another story, "Bonus Room" (Another room story! Weird.) the disappearance of some characters is clearly covered up, though I won't say how for anyone who hasn't read it. So suffice to say it can be done.

That's the question! Perhaps they built up over time, or maybe the suddenly appeared... maybe she suffered a fright, or something more direct... we'll never know for sure since the narrator heard and read about her case second-hand.

I don't know, I think I've seen some stories from others out there. ;)

Say, what happened to your "Leak in the Roof" story you had posted recently?

I didn't like it. :)

That's happened to maybe 5 - 10 stories.

Well thanks, kinda figures you'd be vague, but then again not many people can be good at it like you. So I guess I have to ask different questions:
Outta all the creepypastass you've written, which one's would you say you had the most fun writing, hardest to write, favorite, and which do you think is your best?

Most fun - "What to do with Human Baby", because it's just stupid and I like making lists.
Hardest - "Red Sky at Night", because I wrote/posted it in segments, and after three parts it felt like a chore.
Favorite - Probably the same one that's the "most fun", though I like "Lost Episodes" a heck of a lot, too.

Best? I dunno... Abandoned by Disney is definitely the most popular, and people actually act like Funnymouth which seems to say they like it... I dunno. "Best" is subjective, and I don't really think much about it after I write stuff... it's like an event that just happens & ends.

Is there any HR stories you've done? What happened to that HR comic that was being made?

I liked the "plot" of HR and it could do with some love.

Time for some newbie questions

Dirty Window - I didn't get it
Mold - I've read about the fact the narrator is actually the blind guy's sighting dog, but I didn't get the last phrase.. "My name isn't Ronald, it's King. "
Passing Through - Didn't get the end here as well
The Toddler - Same as 1 & 3.

I feel ashamed, but I my bigger concern is to figure out those stories! Thanks in advance

Major spoilers ahead for anyone who hasn't read them...

Dirty Window - I didn't get it

The window was removed and on the floor during the entire conversation. IE: The view and conversation were impossible.

Mold - I've read about the fact the narrator is actually the blind guy's sighting dog, but I didn't get the last phrase.. "My name isn't Ronald, it's King. "

The old man renamed him, as folks sometimes do when they get a pet. Hence the narrator's repeated ire at being called the wrong name. (Alternately, he could be calling the narrator by the name of a pet he previously owned - you know, being forgetful and all.)

Passing Through - Didn't get the end here as well

Creature that eats people and retains their memories. Their kind is sort of an amalgam of things they've consumed, like they replicate features, etc.

The Toddler - Same as 1 & 3.

This & That.

I'm racist against giant anthromorphic goose-people? O_o

I liked the "plot" of HR and it could do with some love.

No HR stories other than the two comic scripts I wrote and a very brief (one page?) webcomic script that never went anywhere.

The HR comics, in both cases, suffered from people being uninterested. Artists who never drew anything, artists who wanted to change (and ruin) it all, and so forth.

Edit: I take that back. I wrote a short story about Group 40 somewhere a few years ago. Nobody cared, etc. That was the primary problem with the HR mythos - I'd post stuff up (a fake site, a plot element in the game) and nobody would care to look at it.

Thanks!

About Mold - I guessed the last line is the most "powerful" one, so it confused me quite a bit
