This is a newbie guide I'd written and posted on the Einherjar group forum. I figured since the HR reboot is still seemingly fresh and low in numbers/levels I'd go ahead and copy-paste it here. It is obviously unfinished.

Corrections, suggestions and comments are more than welcome.

Melee - What you use as a melee weapon is completely up to you. Most melee weapons found are gag weapons, doing low damage or none at all. Below is a list of recommended weapons.
Firearms - What you use as a firearm is completely up to you. Below is the list of firearms currently available in the game.

Great guide, I think mainly just the map locations are out of date.

Also gennies aren't really useful at the moment.

Thanks. Which map locations? I've come to understand that there is no longer a fort, but is that it?

I'll leave the section about generators in even if they aren't as important as they used to be. Unless the feature has been removed, it's certainly something players should know about.

Nah, I didn't. We have an entire section on important locations as well but I didn't post that for obvious reasons.

Could I possibly get some clarification on what Dead Shot actually does?

Does it only apply to firearms? If it does, how do you explain Fists doing 6-8 damage consistently?

I know there's a 'critical hit' mechanic for head strikes already in place without Dead Shot. Does Dead Shot stack with that, or is Dead Shot just an 'upgrade' for it?

Dead Shot just adds more damage to the head and chest, it doesn't matter what the weapon used is.

Vampire Guide section added.

The undead have considerably less to write about... It makes it difficult to think of what to put that isn't just regurgitating skill descriptions or telling people how they should play.

I need a bit more explanation about Bloodthirst now.

I notice I'm hitting around 30 at what seems to be the max bloodthirst I can accumulate.

You slash ---- with your Claws for 27 damage to the leg, your blood thirst added 10 damage . They die.

Claws do 7 damage without any critical damage (hit to the leg), and bloodthirst added 10. So that's 17 damage. Where does the other 10 come from? Or am I not understanding it properly?

Of course, you mentioning this makes me look at it more closely, and I realize that whoever added this skill made it add the extra damage TWICE. Vampires, be prepared to lose out on a bunch of extra damage soon when I fix this... at least until this damage formula is tweaked some more when people complain about it.

This makes vampires hunters instead of berserkers again. Good. I wouldn't mind them getting more skills to increase their hunting capability now. I'll have to do some thinking.

I can't find a good way to test this.


Does darkness actually decrease human accuracy? I swear I read somewhere that it does, but it was a long time ago.

round up your group to test it. Fire 100 shots of one weapon at one target in the light and dark. If you get 10 guys that's 20AP each. Plus a target.
