I think Bob Villa did an episode or two on renovating the cabins a while back, but I don't the ratings were very good.  I was in a little village on Vancouver Island once that had a bunch of building with cool murals painted on them.  Maybe you could invite Bob Ross to paint some scenes of happy trees on the cabins to help make them nicer.
