Lol.
But seriously, HR isn't an active game. It's a coffee break game. You're not supposed to be sitting around twiddling your thumbs waiting for ap.

The thing you did wrong was not even tell anyone what you actually did. I don't know what to say because I don't even know what or how anything is changed.

I put it on the announcements, nobody even looks there. Then again, I just edited the current one because I didn't feel it warranted an entirely new post. So..

Yeah I didn't know you did anything.

... And you didn't put numbers, so I still don't know what to comment on. I don't mean to be a bother but a change like this needs information or people have nothing to work with. I know you need 10 to stand normally but someone say 15 over chat. 15 for what? Another person said its 15 for jumping. I never mentioned jumping in my suggestion, I figured that was a normal death. What about revives? I'd test it but none of my alts have the ability to resist revives.

Regardless, once the overreaction phase that comes with every update ever has passed, the game should be better off.

It's just 10 for standing up normally and 15 for resisting a revive. I don't know anything about jumping.

Oh, that's it? Seriously? People are such babies sometimes. Gods forbid they see the big picture or something.

Now I can tackle these...

The only drawback I see to the current increase in AP cost is that its bound to drive some people away from the game due to wait times.

Currently, if you are at zero AP when you are killed, that's at least 30 minutes of waiting around doing nothing. (25 waiting to be able to stand, 5 more just to have two actions.)  And that's if you don't immediately get killed by another player or NPC after standing, thus having to wait even longer to really do anything.  Not everyone has time to just sit around at their computer for half hour spells waiting to be able to play a game.  People's attention spans aren't what they used to be.  There's a good chance they'll just start looking to other games and websites to pass the time while bored.
I address all of these points in my post here: http://slimebeast.com/forum/hell-rising/death-should-mean-something/msg3192/#msg3192

If it's your coffee break you won't actually be sitting around for anything. Unless you just used your AP before your coffee break and your coffee break proceeds to be several hours long.

Also you're wrong, HR is in fact an active game. It's actually more active than a few of the other games I play. You might play the game casually, but I don't, and a lot of guys in Einherjar and BB don't either. Unfortunately for you it's people like us that are going to keep this game populated. I'm not looking to turn this game over on its head, I'm looking to fix problems that drove more people away than this change ever will.

I don't mean it's a dead game, I mean it's a game you're not supposed to actively play.

It's like two steps above cookie clicker.
If it had friend requests and a cash shop to buy more AP it would be a facebook game.
And you're definitely trying to turn it on it's head by making it anything other than a casual, arcadey, simple game of hide and seek with zombies and vampires.

If you haven't noticed... it kind of is a dead game because it's casual, arcade-y, and simple. It doesn't hold peoples attentions when it easily could if it had more involved features and fixed concepts.

Einherjar has gone on at least a dozen recruitment drives, having to resort to goddamn 4chan for players, and hardly any of them stick around because the game just doesn't have enough to offer, and what it does have to offer isn't tuned enough.

Just a few days ago we were at around 250 players at best because of a recruitment drive. Now, it's a weekend, and we're at this:
Serling: … 41 humans, 52 zombies, 32 vampires… Barely 130.

If you want to play a facebook game, go play a facebook game. Let this game develop into something more than it is so it can hold on to players in the future.

But it's funny, because you change it and then you lose the players who stuck around because of what it was.

That's what happens in every game ever. You have to think about the future players, not the current ones. Think about what's better for the game in the long run.

It would have stuck if I hadn't been banned on 4chan and me going to montreal. You'll see those numbers rise again soon :goggles:

My point was you shouldn't have to be constantly spamming threads on 4chan just to keep the numbers up. If they all melt away when you stop then why bother, really? The game needs to be developed more.

A couple more larger features and we should have something. Backpacks was good.

Yeah, so what, overhaul the entire game and reset everyone? Because I feel like that's what would need to be done, and... :bleed:
