There's no bug report board anymore?

Zombies are only getting 2hp per successful grim feast.
You gnaw on a vampire with your Teeth for 8 damage to the gut and regaining 2 HP.
You gnaw on a vampire with your Teeth for 7 damage to the gut and regaining 2 HP.

Supposed to be 3. My thoughts is that supernatural durability is affecting it.

I was going to type something else here but then I looked back at the actual code and realized that something I had noticed too about the skill was actually wrong as well when I talked to Mo about it. If that sentence ran on and didn't make any sense then tough because I'm tired.

The bug is actually that the 2 HP reported in the message is wrong and you actually do gain 3 HP.

In registration it still says humans start with 40HP, 60AP, zeds with 60HP, 40AP and vampons with 50 of each.

I couldn't connect to the server for a bit, then suddenly I was in the middle of brick squares instead of in Serling, with a "Go to Serling button.  Here's my actions text:


You slash a zombie with your Claws for 16 damage to the leg, your blood thirst added 5 damage while leaving them at 7 life.
You try to slash a zombie with your Claws but miss.
You slash a zombie with your Claws for 17 damage. They die.
You try to slash a zombie with your Claws but miss.
You slash a zombie with your Claws for 17 damage to the arm, your blood thirst added 5 damage while leaving them at 6 life.
You slash a zombie with your Claws for 19 damage. They die.
You try to slash a zombie with your Claws but miss. (3 times)
! Invalid move. What are you trying to pull? (6 times)
» You hope a short bus to Serling.
! Invalid move. What are you trying to pull? (2 times)

All I've been doing to generate the invalid move messages is clicking Game View.  What's the deal?

I have never found a bullwhip

In Twilight City the bullwhip, in addition to some other neat items, were only available from a particular museum that featured a torture exhibit. There's some museums on this new map, but obviously i don't know if any of the museum's feature niche items yet.

Something weird with NPCs damaging you.

Twice already, that I've noticed, I've been hit by NPCs but my HP value has not changed. Here's one:

Speaking of NPC's Mo, are they designed intentionally to be utter shit wrecking bastards? What I mean is, they can slip through barricades and even kill me when I'm actually hiding. They may even be able to slip past closed doors from what i've encountered. I don't even remember the NPC's in scrollwars being so able and aggressive.

If it helps I think they only damage you when they attack on their own. I think their retaliations are what don't do any damage to you.

Everything else... human NPCs should have the same barricade rules as regular humans... Trick or Treaters are considered human. At the moment, NPCs shouldn't be able to go through doors... or attack someone who's hiding. But I'll double check it, I suppose.

Yeah, I tested it and couldn't reproduce being attacked while hidden... but then again after hearing you say that I slightly altered the code so that might have fixed it, somehow.

It isn't updated on the actual server yet, but these bugs should be fixed whenever Mo has the time to upload it.

Speak English like a regular person, then, and stop using special reserved characters that nobody is supposed to use because they're being used to separate the messages in the database and it was never thought that such an odd-looking character would ever be said by a person ever, SO MUCH SO, in fact, that it was never prevented from actually being said by anyone... UNTIL NOW... or whenever this gets uploaded.

So it's either fix this weird looking "o" that only you want to use, BREAKING EVERYONE'S MESSAGES, or change them into regular o's.

The choice is clear.

You're being banned forever.

Really? Awesome.

It's a very important letter. And it's also a word on its own; it means island (both ö and ø). Ö was used to replace Ø in many cases back when Germany was still relevant, as they both derive from the same origin and represent the same sound. The letter Œ also tends to represent the same sound, and is relative to Ø and Ö, but Œ is still vastly a different letter. That makes Ö the only legitimate replacement besides simply writing all three letters as "oe", but that quickly becomes an inconvenience, especially with words that use "oe" as they are.

He even uses it so infrequently that it's taken over a month for him to notice.

I don't often speak Danish/Norwegian/Faroese to people that don't know it out of courtesy, but in this case I was simply trying to say the name of a Danish product. I also miraculously avoided using it in my group's ranks, because most of the ranks are older words that use Ö instead. I was also planning on inviting a number of my friends that would have quickly been impeded in their ability to communicate comfortably by this problem.

An old issue, and almost a non-issue, but it would appreciated if you were to look into fixing it.

Group management. You cannot give a rank that is low on the list an ability without applying that ability to every rank above it beforehand.

For example, you cannot give the bottom rank the ability to invite without the rank above it having the ability already. If you try to, the ability seems to apply to the highest rank that does not have it instead.

Why is this an issue? Well I have a rank specifically for my alts that is placed low on the list. I want to give my alt rank the ability to invite, promote, and kick, but I cannot because doing so will give the abilities to a rank above it instead.

I keep getting kicked from the game for several hours at a time and receiving these messages:

-Error in connecting to mySQL database Too many connections
-Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.
-mySQL Database Down due to: Too many connections

Which wouldn't be so bad if I could do something like report them on the forums.  But when this happens I can't even log onto them.

Nope... It may be because now instead of going to the next tile when clicking a adjacent tile it just makes you exit now.

I noticed this yesterday. Previously when you were inside a building with a heavy barricade you could still exit the building by clicking on an adjacent open tile, like a parking lot. This is no longer the case; it tells you the entry is barricaded.

It made sense so I figured it was intentional.

It proves to be an issue for low-level players seeing as how they can enter buildings for 10 AP, but they cannot leave without either bringing the barricade down or having purchased Rooftop Run.

Yeah, in the very first original version of the game, being able to bypass the really heavy barricades by just clicking another tile was an "unintended feature", AS WE IN THE BIZ CALL IT.

Oh ooh there was a legit form of griefing way back when I joined similar to this: You could kill low level humans or zombify vampires and then close the door if they were hiding inside; most wouldn't have the intellect skill needed to open doors so they were literally entombed. Nice to see a milder form of this was brought back!

I never had a problem with it in the past nor was I "in the know" about it. 

So yes, I felt the need to report it.

I suppose if I hadn't been around that entire time and didn't know about it then it would have been helpful, but the fact that I have no idea what's causing it yet is stressing me out and making me grumpier than usual. :-\

This is probably something you already knew about and were hoping no one else would notice. I sort of knew about it already, and I'm sure others did as well, but I believe it's worth finally saying something.

You can manipulate the URL for the game to achieve odd things.

What brought me to finally say something--because it proves to not be harmless like everything else--is that you can manipulate the URL to store items into Backpacks that you cannot normally store.

• You put a Shotgun into a Backpack.
• You put a Shotgun back into your inventory.
• You put an Injector into a Backpack.
• You put an Injector back into your inventory.

I'm not going to state how to actually do this. It's pretty obvious.

Also the group permissions should allow you to set them for any rank now.

Plus the bug that was eating up the database connections should be totally fixed now so everything should be running better. At least until there's another bug that does that.

I can confirm these two.

However, there is one itty-bitty problem with applications. When you accept them, the page returns as though you are not part of the group--it shows the group page with the whole 'Apply to Join' button. Clicking away via Game View or just clicking My Group again makes it go back to normal. The applications themselves still work though.

I wouldn't bother fixing it if it might cause trouble, since only group leaders end up seeing it and it doesn't seem to break anything.

So, yeah. I "died" to the fire, as in, my HP hit 0. I didn't get a death message, because I didn't actually die.

I even healed myself from 0.

It's the same penalty for healing the same group on alts. I assume these things were set up back when the map was a lot bigger because it's a certain radius that seems reasonable enough but maybe not with a small map.

Yeah but both actions were at least an hour apart. Maybe 40 minutes or so.

You can't even tell who you're reviving unless your group has them allied or enemied. This cannot be managed on a map this size.

To be honest, it should only be lock-able if it happens after combat. Maybe an hour? If you just stumble upon someone that's hurt and you heal them and get locked... well, it's just plainly not fair.

Edit: Actually the more I think about it the more I think healing/reviving the same group shouldn't count. Yes, it can be heavily abused, but you have to actually put effort into it, unlike just walking up and attacking someone. If you make healing/reviving lock-able the situations get very messy.

Newb1 of Enemy Group gets killed by Player's Alt1 at 5 PM.
Newb2 of Enemy Group is wandering around and stops in the opposite neighbourhood at 5:30 PM. Player's Alt2 kills Newb2, but only sees them as 'a zombie', and gets locked without having a chance.

I got locked for attacking The Einherjar but the last time I attacked a member of that group with my alt was more than a day ago. My alt last pelted a member of my group with an egg. Also I can no longer enter buildings as my character.

they should be penalized harshly for abuse, it's just that there's things that don't really constitute abuse.
There's some things that probably should be punished but aren't, like I think searching for hidden enemies with an alt and then killing them with your main. (I don't think that's punishable right now, right?)
I think you can take down barricades with an alt's AP and then get the juicy kill inside with your main without getting locked too.

There's probably some others.

I don't know if it's just healing. Healing is the only way I've been able to see it consistently. I also don't know if the actual description disappears, since all that the building had was 'The lights are on', which was disappearing.

I just noticed something blinking in and out on the page regularly over the course of about a week but I hadn't figured out what it was until now.

No, you silly. :P

The tile type is $type and in the healing function it uses that $type for seeing if the tile is a hospital so you get extra healing. But, someone also used $type to mean what item type you are using to heal, so the tile's type was getting overwritten with that. Thus, in just the healing function alone, people weren't getting extra healing in hospitals, plus the map description and whatever else that relied on the tile type that came after healing weren't working right.

It's a big, big mess. -_-

I could agree with this if it were actually enforceable. I can't fathom how you would actually prevent someone from having another character. Even if you did it by IP, what's to stop them from using a proxy? Not to mention siblings, roommates, significant others, etc.

Also, as I said in group chat, I could agree with 2 AP instead of 1. I don't know about the weekend bonus though. 3 might be a little extreme on a map this big.

ONE MOOOORRRE THING!

When I select a weapon that isn't the first on my drop down menu to use it only does for a single attack, then subsequently reverts to attacking whatever's in the first slot. I know it wasn't this way even a few days ago and I could consistently use other weapons without it changing.

Also I think I encountered a bug? I was fighting a vampire wretch at the edge of the map and suddenly it disppeared without saying "You killed the vampire wretch" or "Some killstealer stole your kill"

There are some times where one must separate reality for the sake of mechanics. This is one of them. Humans should be able to hide while searching--they are the only race dexterous enough to be justified in doing so. I don't care if you add a new skill that allows it. It should be a thing.

Rooftop Run, maybe? Then search and perhaps repairs. I don't know.

We noticed it a while back but didn't say anything because we suspected you might have wanted to turn this into something else, but Brobdag building in West Underlook doesn't have a jump option when you go inside it like all the other yellow buildings that aren't hotels.

I can't invite players to my group.

A friend of mine joined and I went to invite her, but when I clicked the button on her profile it returned me to game view and nothing happened.

You know, I always used to wonder how in the world developers could break some completely random thing when patching something. Now I realize it's kind of easy to accidentally do that, all the time.

Couldn't get a screenshot due to being attacked, but there was a Mantis Grunt and a Vampire Wretch on the same tile. I whacked the Wretch, and upon it taking damage, the game listed the location as having 2 Mantis Grunts, while the tile still listed 1 person and 1 vampire.

I just threw away in disgust a box of shotgun shells with ammunition only ticked.

EDIT: I'm sure I could, because this is when I asked if we could get an ammunition only filter because I would have to throw out weapons to make room for ammo.

I'm sure you're further along with it than I am, but just in case you're not, I noticed this after hitting another Wretch.

The tile showed '2 Zombie Wretches' until I hit one of them. It then changed to how it is here:

NPCs seem to 'change states' when you whack them. Like how hitting a Human Wretch as a human causes them to turn hostile (green to red). I think that might be what's causing them to morph.

yooo i was in the fort tryin to kill some dood and i had like 10 or 11 ap right? i got in a couple hits but the guy f5d me to death in under .055 seconds (i checked the page loader thingy) anyways im dead on the ground right and it says i have 9 ap but i can't stand. im like dafuq am i locked? and it goes to 11 ap i have the option to stand. get up, take 1 step, zero ap. now im stranded in the fort thanks a lot dicks.

No, it only adds damage to Fangs and Claws. So, I really don't know.

I'm not seeing it... I bought all the skills for every ... fuck, I never know what to call them. Class, race, species... And I tested the damage with a damageless weapon. 0 every time, can't kill anything.

It's been that way since Bloodlust came out. My friend GTO loves using the bloodlust stack to kill people with a dead fish and make them wonder what the hell happened when they log back on.

You can drag victims through extremely heavy barricades and probably closed doors too.
It's hardly game breaking, because you already have to have broken in and it has to be a multiile building and the victim has to be on the still barricaded side, but it's hilarious.

» You manage to grab hold of T3 and drag them outside.
You claw at a human with your Hands for 13 damage to the gut.
You gnaw on a human with your Teeth for 9 damage to the arm, spreading your disease, regaining 3 HP. They die.

Here's one, don't know if it happens for anyone else: When you click to Restack Inventory, it brings up the Drop confirmation pop-up. Tested to see if accepting actually drops the item prompted, but naw.

Ah, I didn't think about that. Well, it's harmless, anyway, it won't actually drop the item, but it would need you to click OK if you actually want to sort your inventory.

In case he doesn't post it here, there was a group mate mentioning every time he healed himself that it would mention his infection was removed, instead of only once. I wish i had concrete details to give you but I just wanted to give a heads up it may be something to look into.

No it's definitely not fixed. I died trying to eviscerate, twice. Man those zombglomerations are tough. People definitely shouldn't take them on with low health and no recovery items like I did. >_>

Unrelated:

Someone told me that if you die to statuses (burning, infection) as a Vampire you get turned into a Zombie. Is this true, and if so, is this intentional?
I think dying due to infection as a vampire was intended to turn you into a zombie, because that's how the infection code was originally before I messed with it. As for other statuses, no that's not intentional.

It also shouldn't be happening with anything other than infection, looking at it, so hmm.

Attacked a Snowman and suddenly the page whites out with just
Unknown column 'kills_' in 'field list'
And then it tells me "something has succumbed to your infection" (I'm a Zombie), the Snowman being the only thing I'd attacked in over 24 hours, yet it was still standing. I hit it one more time and then it died.

Pretty funky.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but I was under the impression that blood bags cured infection as a vampire? I've used up about seven of those and all it does is heal me and the infection remains.

Another hilarious thing that happened: As I healed over and over with both hearts and blood bags so as to not die from infection, my HP broke the 60 limit (it's under it now due to the pesky infection) But it managed to reach 80/60 HP. Probably due to the infection itself? Or is this working as intended and I just need a new banana to replace my brain?

I told Mo about this weeks ago but apparently he forgot to actually make them heal infection... OR he decided that they shouldn't.

Yeah, I got this, too. When you get back to the game, it SAYS you healed, but your health is still where it was.

I've been cleaning up my group's page, and noticed that I can't remove a group from our allies because the group no longer exists. The Devil's Rejects have apparently disbanded but are still on my group's Allies list. I can't remove them because the remove from allies button normally shows up on the other groups page...which no longer exists. I'm a bit ocd, so it's killing me!

Not only are all the buildings on fire, but even tiles without buildings are being treated as "on fire".

Edit: Any chance you were changing on how fires work?  I think the entire map went up in flames when I lit a building on fire with a Vampire in it.

Another weird thing with fire. I was in the power plant, and when I logged in I saw this.

You lose 5 HP from the fire. (3 times)
You lose 5 HP from the fire. You die. (11 times)
You lose 4 HP from the fire. You die. (4 times)
You lose 2 HP from the fire. You die.
You lose 3 HP from the fire. You die.
You lose 1 HP from the fire. You die.

And I'm still alive with 1 HP.

Also, every building I see is a total disaster, probably from the fires. Weird.

The fires are out, but almost all buildings are wrecked. This is what I woke up to:

You lose 4 HP from the fire.

I'm currently at 1hp, I haven't logged in til now, so I wasn't moving around when I was being damage by the fire, and no one revived me, so not sure how I "died" and such :)

2 things I've noticed over the last 48 hours.
1. Get set on fire.
Fire has now expired.
Fire continues to burn on the next movement despite being out.

2. #Could just be me as I've never been a vampire but everybody keeps turning me onto one over the last 48hours.#
 I have never gained a single HP despite having Fanged Bite, Powerful Jaws, Plasma Feeding and Powerful Jaws.
NPC, and other Vampires never give up a single HP.
Could just be lucky ole me and the lack of Humans.

I just gained my first HP back after latching.

Okay here's a weird one, The Aundae group page is bugged specifically the ranks, however for Maddy everything looks normal, for everyone else the ranks are screwed up and cannot be fixed/changed. On her page everyone is where they are supposed to be, on Wank's and I pages (and I'm assuming the rest of the group) he and Skrape have the wrong ranks, and I cannot promote them to the proper ranks. Help?

Two things i just found.

#1 - While rooftop running around i was able to enter a building in very poor condition from a perfect condition one. Has something changed or is this a bug?

#2 - I can exit buildings that are "Heavily Barricaded" for 1 AP simply by clicking on the building as opposed to using the climb out button.
