Title: A little computer question
Post by: Steel Reserve on 08:52:19 PM 10/04/14
I need a free and reliable antivirus/antispyware program. Do any of you know of one that you could recommend to me?

I used to use Avast! before I realized I was never getting any malicious shit for years on end and decided to fly blind.

That's because you were still on dial-up, it would've taken you days to download any malware.

I've always used Malwarebytes, but it's detection and removal, not preventative. Meaning it won't stop you from acquiring malware, but does a decent job of removing it.

Not a fan of preventative anti-virus programs because I like having all of my computer's resources available whether I need them or not.

Not sure if this is still an issue, nonetheless, If your using Windows Malwarebytes is a great choice.
