For a few years, now, I've been drawing snails.
I'm not sure exactly how or when it started, but every so often I doodle a strange snail of some sort. Snails with skulls for shells, snails that evolved to live in volcanic fissues, and so on. There's something about snails in general that I find adorable.
Here are some of those! The Snowshell
One of the first to leave my brain and splatter onto paper, the Snowshell is an arctic snail that leaves a frozen trail of slime it happily glides over at astounding speeds. Its shell and eyestalks are fur-lined because why not?The War Snail
Native to war-torn battlefields (yes) the War Snail has a specialized, super-hard shell and adorns itself with markings and objects found in its path. The Caustic Snail
The Caustic Snail is a random concoction comprised of highly-corrosive and deadly waste. Its body, created from the pool that has leaked forth, can be very unstable. For this reason, the Caustic Snail tends to dump living things into its barrel "shell" to make use of their bones for support. The Snail Head
Sometimes "remove the head" isn't totally effective when dealing with zombies. The Snail Head happily glides along on a crimson trail, searching out other, less mobile corpses to feed on. Very slowly. While their "shells" are vulnerable to attack, the brains inside couldn't be less important to their ongoing survival.
So there you have it! Some strange snails!
I'll probably post more as time goes on, including the Boogerfly... which isn't technically a snail, but rather a slug who was raised by caterpillars...
