Zombies! Vampires! Humans!

"Hell Rising" is the long-lived Browser-Based Game you can find here. In 2007, basically a FORMER FRIEND and I kicked the game off. Since then, the mythos of the game grew, though it's not exactly Tolkienesque.

In or around 2008, I wrote a Hell Rising comic to pitch to publishers. My thought was that folks who like the game might read the comic, and folks who like the comic might play the game. Win-Win.

Unfortunately, it was not meant to be. A rash of problems, plus a general lack of interest from publishers left the story... wait for it... DEAD. :awesome:

Also, my writing sucked a lot worse back then.

...

Anyway, here's some stuff from it:

Essentially, the story centered on the Commander - a zombie who retained his intellect, as is common with this particular zombie outbreak. His military experience allowed him to snap even the most braindead undead deadies into line. Organizing the horde extremely well, he eventually ran rampant over the surviving human citizens and even a cluster of vampires who attempted to destroy him.

Also, he had a zombie buger-flipper sidekick named Mel.

So here's the script if you want to torture yourself.

BONUS!

Here's the first page from the Hell Rising webcomic that also died!

If I should live until I wake, I pray the web my death to fake.
